About Me: I am a few years past 50 years old, married to my wife Denise who is better than I deserve, and I am blessed with two wonderful sons, Jonathan and Taylor. I have moved around most of my life. I was born in Southern California, went to high school in South Georgia, and earned a degree in Accounting from Georgia Southern College (now a University). I continued my moving with jobs in Georgia, Louisiana, South Carolina, North Carolina, California, and finally Washington. I retired in 2005 and I could not be happier!

My first bike: My early motorcycle days ended before they got started. My dad was all set to buy me my first bike for my 9th birthday. The weekend before the big purchase we went to a motocross race to watch some friends’ race and both of them wound up in the hospital. So my riding days were put on hold until I graduated from high school. With my first summer job paycheck I bought a Yamaha DT400. It was beat up. It had a section of a truck mud grip tire cut to make a rear fender. It was wonderful! Living in South Georgia I could ride for miles in any direction. It helped that my two riding buddies were the sons of the Sheriff and Game Warden!

My Riding Experience: My first few years of riding were in the lowlands of South Georgia; lots of sand, water, and swamp land. Since then I have ridden in Louisiana, Texas, Northern and Southern California, Nevada, Utah, Oregon, and Washington. Seems like I would be a better rider by now but…

My Favorite Quote: “You too are only one ‘I quit’ from retirement” No one knows what tomorrow will bring, so I chose more time with the family over making more money!

Why I became Treasurer: I became Treasurer by going to the restroom at the wrong time during a meeting.  However I don’t mind.  As a past president of CFMC, I know what a great group of people there are out there, and I know that I will have all the support I need to get the job done.

I’d also like to say: Please don’t be one of those people that stay in the background and count on others to make sure future generations have riding opportunities. Get involved! I get a ton of satisfaction by joining trail work parties, by serving as the Treasurer for the NMA, and by being part of a one of the best motorcycle clubs in the state.
