NMA President

NMA President

Rick Dahl

Send the NMA President an E-Mail

About Me: I have worked in the financial arena my entire career, most recently as a SVP for Fibre CU managing their residential mortgage lending. Married to Barby for 28 years, four step-children, and six grandsons. Active with the NMA since the late 1980’s, served on the NOVA committee for 15 years beginning in the early 1990’s, associate State Partner for NOHVCC, and one of the founding board members, and initial board chair, for WOHVA.

My First Bike: I was not raised in a dirt bike riding family, I was raised on horses. Thusly my introduction to dirt bikes came relatively late in life at the age of 30. My first dirt bike purchase at that time was a Kawasaki KDX 250. A bike I still have very fond memories of.

My Riding Experience: I really enjoyed the off-road competitive side, Enduro’s, ISDE’s ,etc. through the late 80’s, 90’s and early 2000’s. Now a scenic trail ride at less frenetic pace is the ticket. The constant through all of these years has been my number 1 riding partner, my brother Steve.

My Favorite Quote: I don’t know that I have a favorite quote, but I always like this one because it reminds me of what we deal with in Olympia on a regular basis.
“By the age of 4 most people outgrow the me-me-me phase, the rest become politicians.”

Why I Became President: The simple answer is someone asked. The larger answer is when I was active in the competition arena, this organization was extended family. They cared for, looked out for, and supported you, and yours. Our children, grand children, etc. should have the same experience opportunity.

I’d also like to say: We are always looking for the next generation of volunteers. If you have had those thoughts, think about following through on them. It will be something you look back on with pride.
