5 - Elbe Hills
Puget Sound Region

These trails for short wheelbase four-wheel drives were built by volunteers. The Department of Natural Resources supplied materials and equipment. The system was designed to emphasize driving speed. Depending on the season and direction of travel, there are spots which may require a winch. If you don't want scratches on your rig, these are trails to avoid. The trailhead has a picnic shelter with a double fireplace.

The Elbe Hills are in a Cooperative Road Management area where access roads are closed to all vehicles during big game hunting seasons. Check with the Department of Wildlife for closure dates.
