This scenic central Cascade riding area has an easy trail to beautiful Myrtle Lake. Other more challenging trails up Anthem Creek and Shetipo trails lead to high ridge views from Duncan Hill and the Upper Mad River trail area. At an elevation of 7818', the former lookout area on Duncan Hill provides a spectacular 360 degree view of the upper Entiat basin. Looking to the east is Pyramid Mountain and the South Fork basin, where trails were formerly open to motorized use up until about 1993 and then administratively closed to motorized use when the Forest Service caved in to radical pressure from hiking and environmental extremists who falsely claimed conflict existed on the trails. This is an area we hope to have reopened some day to motorized use. The entire area, including the existing motorized trails, remain under the threat of closure by these same extremists who covet this area as new Wilderness. Take time to ride and enjoy these trails at least once each year. The North Entiat trails offer a rare opportunity to experience the high alpine beauty of the Central Cascades on motorcycles. Ride these trails with care and consideration for other users you may encounter. Set an example that reinforces what we already know that conflict is and has always been low on these trails. Write the Forest Service and let them know you ride and value these motorized trails. Take an extra minute to also ask them to reopen Pyramid Mountain and the South Fork trails to motorcycles. With your help we will keep motorized use on these trails and maybe even restore what was wrongfully taken from us. Location: 33 mi. NW of Entiat Phone: 509-784-1511 Trails: Trailbike - 22 mi. Season: when snow-free Fees: none Mailing Address: Entiat Ranger District, 2108 Entiat Way, P.O. Box 476, Entiat, WA 98822
